一开始没有弄明白,反复弄错.

1．dude（老兄，老哥）

开始时我把它误解为“花花公子, 纨绔子弟”，实际上此词是叫男性年轻人常用的，与guy的意思相同，只是guy用的范围更广。例子：Hey, dude, look at that girl.(喂，老兄，看那个女孩)

2．chick（女孩）

容易误解为“鸡，妓女”，实际上此词是叫年轻女孩常用的，语气中确实有轻佻、不尊重的含义。例子：Look at that chick at the door.(看门口的那个女孩)

3．pissed off（生气，不高兴）

千万别认为是“尿尿”的意思，piss off在字典中则是“滚开, 滚蛋”的意思，实际上此词是表示“生气，不高兴”的意思,与angry同意。例子：Man, is that guy pissed of?(哎呀，那家伙真的生气了)

4．Hey, Give me five（嗨，好啊！）

此短语非常流行，经常在大片中出现，击掌庆贺时用。例子：Hey, dude! Give me five! (嗨，老兄，好啊！)

5．freak out（大发脾气）

总是在片子中看到这个词，freak是“奇异的, 反常的”的意思，但此词是“大发脾气”的意思，out也可以省略，这个词在美国很常用，老式说法是be very upset。例子：He’s gonna freak(他快要发脾气了)

6．Get out of here（别开玩笑了，别骗人了）

这个词大家都很熟悉，容易联想到“滚开”的意思，现在很多时候都是“别开玩笑了，别骗人了”的意思，在片子常可以听到，在美国非常流行。例子：（Man：）You look very beautiful(你很漂亮)（Girl:）Get out of here.( 别骗了)

7．gross（真恶心）

不是“混乱”的意思，字典中gross是“总的，毛重的”的意思，实际上此词是表示“恶心”的意思,与gag同意,是美国年轻人一天到晚挂在嘴边的词。例子：Yuck, what is this stuff? It looks gross(哎呀，这是什么东西？真恶心)

8．Hello（有没有搞错）

并不总是打招呼的意思，有时是“有没有搞错”的意思，要根据上下文来判断。 例子：Hello, anybody home, we’ll be late!(有没有搞错, 我们要迟到了)

9．green（新手，没有经）

不是“绿色”的意思，也不是“生气”的意思,有时表示“新手，没有经验”。例子：She’s really green, she looks nervous.(她是新手，看起来很紧张)

10．Have a crush on someone（爱上某人）

由于crush是“压碎, 碾碎”的意思，因此整个短语容易被误解为“对某人施加压力”的意思，实际上此词表示“爱上某人”，与fall in love with同义。例子：She thinks she has a crush on someone on John.(她认为她爱上约翰了)　

例1，“排名第一”的准确表达，不知是ranks first, ranks the first 还是ranks at the first,google一下：

“" ranks the first" site:.us ”  返回结果：70项，且其中好些结果是：”ranks. The first”形式的，即ranks 和the first 分属二个句子的。

英译：

想验证一下其中的“水利枢纽工程”之英译hydropower-complex project是否准确。输入“‘hydropower-complex project’site:.uk” 只有5项,而hydropower complex(不含project) 却有745项,再挑一二项细加研究，就可发现，“水利枢纽工程”之正确英译是hydropower-complex ,不必也不应带上project。在实际从事翻译工作时，为最大程度地利用网络资源，我们往往将google的二种功能，即查词功能和试对功能，结合使用。

例3：查“固体芳香剂”的译法。
按前述方法输入“固体芳香剂,solid”，查得一种译法是 solid air freshener,对不对呢？再输入到“ “solid air freshener” site:.us”,返回结果725项，且粗略一看上面的英文大意，基本上和中文用途吻合，OK, 就是它了。

多步 OLE DB 操作产生错误。如果可能，请检查每个 OLE DB 状态值。没有工作被完成。

原来是输入的content内容太长,超过了数据库中content字段的长度上限,将字段属性从varchar(5000)转为text,就可以了.

今天在写年终总结的时候，把前几年的工作总结都看了一遍，自己在公司的成长历程一览无余，下面就把其中对技术翻译的一些体会整理出来，与大家共勉。

05工作年终总结

    不知不觉在公司已有4个多月了。感谢领导和同事，正是它们毫无保留的付出，才让刚进入社会的我觉得窝心，感到放心，做得开心。“翻译”是一个需要总结和积累的工作，需要耐心和技巧。下面我就谈谈这段时间来的一些体会以及明年的打算。

体会

1.        注意预览和总结。在翻译新资料前最好阅读一些相关资料，这样可以减少陌生感和增加翻译的准确度。

2.        善于总结。工作以来，翻译的资料类型其实不多，很多翻译的东西挺类似的，所以前期的总结很重要，可以大大提高后面工作的效率。

3.        寻找乐趣。技术翻译是一门累心的差事。虽然毕业时一心想做翻译，但当真正成为一名翻译后，仍然感到现实和理想的差距。前期的好奇心刚过，激情开始慢慢磨灭。这可能是很多人的职业病。如何从“爱一行，干一行”成功转型到“干一行，爱一行”是一项艰巨的任务。很多人可能一辈子也达不到。但我明白这是一名成功职业人所必需的特质。我现在就在其中摸索。在出现倦怠时，我会想想以前的理想，激励鞭策自己。然后给自己一些心理暗示，把每次的翻译当成学习新东西的过程。最重要的还是要把目标设远大一些，给自己鼓劲：现在的努力正是在为以后铺路，打基础。多学一点东西就是多一块基石。最后不知不觉发现自己每天都充满激情，而且每天都很开心。

4.        乐观自信。自记事以来，我从来没有像现在这样感觉到乐观自信的重要。一个自信的人，成功的机会会多很多。自信的人身上有一种魅力，让身边的人都会不自然地被吸引，不自然地相信你。有人就曾问我为什么我每天看起来都那么快乐？我肯定地对她说是乐观自信。任何事都往好方面看，将复杂的事情简单化。人生短短数载，一定要让自己快乐，不断给自己提出新挑战，自信就在这一次次挑战中累积。

明年计划

1.        定位。工作后，对事物的看法变了许多，人也变得比较现实。知道如何客观地分析自己。要了解自己的优势、自己的不足，还有自己的兴趣和潜力。在大学我就喜欢语言，喜欢新事物，所以我爱交朋友爱看书，因为可以从中学到很多新的东西。现在的工作唯一的遗憾就是跟人接触太少，但我不想把自己局限在资料翻译这个小圈子里，我的目标是——成为一名职业翻译，“中译英”和“英译中”同样出色。我也坚信假以时日一定可以实现，所以我把现在每天的工作都当成是为这个目标打地基，抓紧每一天，便离目标更近。这样想着，顿时觉得每天的工作都很有意义。

2.        工作计划。公司已经在快速发展，随着公司的发展，对职业的要求肯定越来越高，所以自己要不断充电，跟上公司发展的步伐。而且以后肯定需要一些外贸人才——既有一定专业基础，又有一口流利的英语。所以：下一年我给自己定的计划就是：a.认真完成公司交给自己的每次任务，学习相关专业知识，总结句型和专业词汇。b.分析所翻资料的英文文档，分析英文技术资料的特点，积累各种经典句型，为“中译英”打好基础。c.继续保持良好的心态和远大的理想。d.工作之余努力学习更多外贸方面的知识，坚持锻炼英语口语和听力。e.等待机会，把握机遇，适时地推销自己，实现人生跳跃。我坚信：机会只给那些有准备的人！

Plot of AVARTAR

In 2154, the RDA corporation is mining Pandora(潘多拉星）, a lush(草木青葱的), Earth-like moon of the planet Polyphemus, in the Alpha Centauri (半人马座α ) star system. Parker Selfridge (Giovanni Ribisi) heads the mining operation, and it employs former marines for security. The corporation intends to exploit Pandora(潘多拉星）'s reserves of a valuable mineral called unobtanium(常温超导体矿石,一个常用于科幻片中的特殊矿石，英文直译：”不可获得的元素”)，. Pandora(潘多拉星） is inhabited by the Na’vi (纳威人), a blue-skinned species of sapient humanoids with feline characteristics. physically stronger and taller than humans, the Na'vi live in harmony with Nature, worshiping a mother goddess called Eywa (爱娃).

Humans cannot survive exposure to Pandora(潘多拉星）’s atmosphere for very long and use gas masks. In an attempt to improve relations with the natives, scientists create human-Na’vi hybrids(杂合体) called avatars(阿凡达), controlled by genetically-matched human operators.[23] Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paraplegic(下身瘫痪) former marine, becomes a last-minute replacement for his murdered identical twin brother, a scientist trained to be an avatar(阿凡达) operator. Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver), the head of the Avatar(阿凡达) Program, considers Sully an inadequate replacement for his brother, and relegates him to a bodyguard role.

Jake escorts Augustine and biologist Norm Spellman (Joel David Moore) on an exploratory mission in their avatar(阿凡达) forms to make contact with the Na'vi纳威人)  in order to help establish diplomatic relations, solve the problem of resources and end the threat of violence. The group is attacked by a predator(食肉动物), and Jake becomes separated and lost. Forced to survive the night in Pandora(潘多拉星）’s dangerous jungles, he is rescued by Neytiri (酋长的女儿), a female Na’vi(纳威人). Neytiri (酋长的女儿) brings Jake to Hometree, which is inhabited by Neytiri (酋长的女儿)’s clan, the Omaticaya (部落名称) . Mo'at (C. C. H. Pounder), the Na’vi shaman (纳威人的巫师或精神领袖)and Neytiri's mother, shows interest in the warrior "Dream-walker" (their term for the Avatar(阿凡达), and instructs her daughter to teach Jake their ways. Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), leader of the security forces for RDA, hears of Jake's unique relationship with the Omaticaya (部落名称)  and promises Jake working legs in exchange for intelligence about the natives and what it will take for them to abandon Hometree, which rests above a large deposit of unobtanium(超导矿石）.

Over three months, Jake grows close to Neytiri (酋长的女儿) and the Omaticaya (部落名称)  and begins preferring their lifestyle, eroding his loyalty to RDA's agenda. He is initiated into the Omaticaya (部落名称) , and he and Neytiri (酋长的女儿) reveal their love for each other, choosing each other as mates. Jake's change of loyalty is revealed when he disables a bulldozer's（推土机） cameras as it destroys the tribe's "Tree of Voices". Col. Quaritch disconnects Jake from his avatar(阿凡达) and presents Selfridge and Augustine with a video diary in which Jake admits that his mission is fruitless; the Omaticaya (部落名称)  will never abandon Hometree. Selfridge is convinced that negotiations will fail and orders Hometree's destruction.

Augustine argues that the destruction of Hometree could affect the vast bio-botanical neural network that all Pandoran  (潘多拉星）organisms are connected to, and Selfridge gives Jake and Augustine one hour to convince the Na’vi(纳威人) to leave Hometree. When he reveals his mission to the Omaticaya (部落名称) , Neytiri (酋长的女儿) accuses him of betraying them, resulting in Jake and Augustine's imprisonment. Quaritch’s forces destroy Hometree, killing Eytucan (Wes Studi), Neytiri's father and clan chief, and many others. Jake and Augustine are disconnected from their avatar(阿凡达)s and detained for treason along with Norm. Trudy Chacón (Michelle Rodriguez), a security force pilot who is disgusted by the violence, breaks them out. During their escape Quaritch shoots Augustine. With Augustine dying, Jake turns to the Omaticaya (部落名称)  for help. To regain their trust he tames(驯服) a Toruk, a powerful flying beast that only five Na’vi(纳威人) have ever tamed. Jake flies to the Omaticaya (部落名称) , who have gathered at the sacred Tree of Souls (灵魂树), and pleads with Mo'at to heal Augustine. They attempt to transplant her soul into her avatar(阿凡达), but her injuries are too severe and she dies before the ritual can be completed.

With the assistance of Neytiri (酋长的女儿) and Tsu'Tey (Laz Alonso), the new leader of the Omaticaya (部落名称) , Jake assembles thousands of Na’vi(纳威人) from other clans. Jake prays to Eywa to intercede on behalf of the Na’vi(纳威人) in the coming battle. Quaritch, noting the mobilization of Na’vi(纳威人) clans, convinces Selfridge to authorize a preemptive(先发制人) strike on the Tree of Souls (灵魂树). Because it is a center of Na’vi(纳威人) religion and culture, its destruction would leave the Na’vi(纳威人) too demoralized (士气低落) to resist further human encroachment.

As the corporation's army attacks, the Na’vi(纳威人) retaliate(报复) but suffer heavy casualties, among them Tsu'Tey and Trudy. When the Na’vi(纳威人) are on the verge of defeat, the Pandora(潘多拉星）n wildlife suddenly attacks the corporation's forces, overwhelming them. Neytiri (酋长的女儿) interprets this as Eywa(爱娃) answering Jake's prayer. Jake destroys the main bomber before it can reach the Tree of Souls (灵魂树). Col. Quaritch escapes and finds the avatar(阿凡达) interface pod （b阿凡达联接舱）where Jake's human body is located and attacks it, exposing Jake to Pandora(潘多拉星）'s atmosphere. Neytiri (酋长的女儿) kills Quaritch and saves Jake. With the attack repelled, Neytiri (酋长的女儿) and Jake reaffirm their love as she sees his human body for the first time.

Selfridge and the military personnel are expelled from Pandora(潘多拉星）, while Jake, Norm, and the scientists studying Pandora(潘多拉星） are allowed to remain. Jake is seen wearing the insignia of the Omaticaya (部落名称)  leader. The film ends with Jake's consciousness being transplanted into his Na’vi(纳威人) avatar(阿凡达) permanently by the Tree of Souls (灵魂树).
